Day of Service at Richmond

We are having a Day of Service at Richmond Temple on Saturday February 25th. Please bring food to share with others.

No Sunday Service on March 4th 

Due to the move to Berkeley there will be no service at Richmond Temple (or Berkeley) on Sunday, March 4th.

First Services at Berkeley Temple

Our first service at Berkeley Temple will be the Commemorative Service for Master's Mahasamadhi, Wednesday March 7. The service will be led by Brother Kalyanananda, beginning with a meditation/kirtan from 7 to 8 pm, with the commemorative service following at 8 pm. Please bring a flower and a monetary donation as symbols of your devotion and loyalty.
You may pick up a flyer at the Information Table for a schedule of days and times for these services.

Volunteers and Food Needed for Berkeley Remodeling

We need volunteers to help with the cleaning of Berkeley Temple on Thursday, February 23rd prior to the carpet installation. Please come at any time during that day between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm., even if it is only for one hour. Please bring cleaning supplies such as mobs, buckets, rags, etc. General assistance is also needed. Please come if you can.
Due to the carpet installation there will be only limited work at Berkeley Temple until the moving day of February 29th. If you want to help, please call Martin Fink beforehand (925-381-6654) to see whether your service is needed. Otherwise there is the day-of-service at Richmond Temple this Saturday where you are welcome to pitch in.

Food is needed for the crew of hungry workers in Berkeley. If you can help prepare lunch for our construction crew of 8 to 12 workers, please contact Lumiel Kim-Hammerich at lumiel66@comcast.net - to make sure that we have food each day the crew is working.
Vegetarian dishes like pasta, casseroles, hearty soups, and Indian and Mexican food are appreciated. Food can be dropped off at the Berkeley site between 11:30 am and Noon. Again, please check with Lumiel to coordinate what day to bring your food donation. Thank you for your help.

Spring Weekend Retreat 

Richmond Temples Annual Weekend Retreat will be held May 4th through the 6th in nearby Danville. All SRF Members and Lessons Students are welcome to attend. Registration forms and flyers are available in the foyer. The registrar will be in the patio after service on Sunday. 

Summer Youth Program

Applications for the 2012 Summer SRF Boys and Girls How-To-Live Youth Programs are available now. We are offering an early registration discount until April 23, 2012. A donation basket is available in the foyer for those who would like to contribute to the Youth Program Scholarship Fund. Please see the flyer in the Foyer for more information about the program. 

Volunteer Reimbursement

Volunteer reimbursement requests will continue at Berkeley Temple in the same way, by placing your check request form and attached receipts in the plastic box in the kitchen.

Housekeeping and Usher Volunteers Needed at Berkeley Temple

How are you with a vacuum cleaner, sponge and mop? How about a duster? If you have any skills wielding any of these objects to good effect, we need your help on the housekeeping committee at Berkeley. If you are interested, please call Linda Hubbard for more information; her number is 510-685-5353.

Right now we have only enough ushers to staff the Thursday evening inspirational service, the Saturday evening meditation, and the Sunday morning service at Berkeley Temple. If we want to have the additional meditations on Sunday evening or on Tuesday evening we need an additional 16 to 20 new ushers beyond the current staff.
